5). Advertise in Blueboy®
Our archival and research initiatives begin with the Blueboy® print magazines. We are pleased to accept your vintage Blueboy® magazines, meticulously restore them, and include them in our permanent collection.
4). Donate An After Dark
After Dark magazine, established in 1968 by William Como and Rudolph Orthwine, was a vibrant publication focused on entertainment. It explored a wide array of topics, including theater, stage performances, ballet, cinema, and the arts.
The magazine made its debut in December 1968 and enjoyed a successful run until it ceased publication in January 1983.
While it wasn't explicitly marketed as a gay magazine, After Dark frequently addressed themes relevant to the gay community and included content that many considered homoerotic.
Donald Embinder, who worked as an advertising executive at After Dark, later went on to found Blueboy®. Given Mr. Embinder's influence at After Dark and the magazine's connection to a gay readership, BACAF is actively working to collect and preserve its legacy.
We invite you to consider donating your copies of After Dark to our permanent collection.
Our legendary publication embarks on a vibrant new journey with the Blueboy®
50th Golden Anniversary— a limited edition, collectible magazine available in DECEMBER 2025. Secure your spot in our dazzling and enticing return!
